Neighbourhood Warden
£22,688 - £24,883 pa, inclusive of shift allowance
(pay award pending) Ref: HCC0443
37 hour week, on a varying shift pattern, including some
weekend working
Neighbourhood Wardens are a patrolling service that have made a
big impact on estates in the borough. We provide a roving
concierge service that support communities and adds value to
other services provided by Reading Borough Council.
This is a high profile role as Neighbourhood Wardens are a front
line customer focussed service. As the Council’s representative in
the Community, you will be expected to assist us in delivering a
high quality service to our residents. Wearing a distinctive uniform
you will operate from bases on estates and will patrol some of our
housing estates across the borough.
If you are excited by the opportunity to provide a supporting
presence to communities in Reading and…
• have considerable experience of providing a front line
customer focussed service
• can get on well with people in a friendly but, when necessary,
firm manner
• can communicate clearly in person and in writing and with a
wide variety of people
• are able to sensitively manage conflict situations
• are willing and able to undertake simple DIY and other
practical tasks
• are physically fit (patrols are on foot)
• can drive (not essential)
