What Young People can do for you!
Portsmouths Youth Advisers in association with the Resource Centre have been raising their profile and getting out and about in the region
YAP (Youth Advisers POrtsmouth) held their first regional roadshow last week, the event was a great success.
The aim of the roadshows was two fold. Firstly to riase the awareness of Young Advisors (www.youngadvisors.org.uk) nationally and the work that they do and secondly to raise the awareness of the team from Portsmouth and the work they have done to date and what they are able to do for services in the region.
The event was held at Winchester Guildhall in Hampshire and the YAP team had invited guests from around the county to find out more about what Young People can do for them and their services.
The event was well received by all, the guests ranged from local magistrates to practitioners involved in delivering services to young people and to Fire officers. Organised by the young people, the event involved activities and presentations from various people involved in young people's services in the region and was a great success.
With that taste of success and a few pointers for improvement the team are planning their next event (Spring 09) which will be located somewhere else in the South East.
