
Portsmouth Football Club was the venue for the latest event run by the Neighbourhood Training and Resource Centre (South East)...
Funded by the Regional Empowerment Partnership (REP) for the South East 'Every Voice Counts', the NTRC delivered a diverse day showcasing a wide range of Empowerment projects already running in the South East including several Portsmouth based projects as well as a range of projects from elsewhere in the region.
Delegates heard keynote speeches from Clare Marett, Head of Thriving and Cohesive Communities at Government Office and Fiona White, the Head of Democratic and Community Engagement at Portsmouth City Council. Alison Templeton from Improvement and Efficiency South East (IESE) also introduced the work of the Improvement and Efficiency body in the region.
Study tours and briefing sessions included projects involving residents as Community researchers, resident particpation panels, Participatory Budgeting events and projects, the engagement of Young People in delivering Community Safety services and more.
The event was a fantastic success, delegates experienced a fast moving day of ideas and thought provoking discussion.
The work of the Regional Empowerment Partnership will continue in the new financial year!
